ASI Canada Seminars

WOW –  it’s August where did the time go!

Hard to believe its August already the past 6 months are like a blur, there’s not many of the lazy days of summer left. August also brings us the annual Seminar Tour, starting in Cambridge on the 12th, then Toronto East on the 13th, Toronto West on the 14th.  Then the suppliers pack up and head out West stopping in Winnipeg August 18th, Edmonton on the 19th, Calgary on the 20th and Vancouver on the 21st.

It’s truly amazing when you think back, the very first spring seminar tour took place in 1986 and have been held annual ever since, in fact a few years ago based on feedback from distributors in Canada we added the second tour held annually in August. While many in this industry are in summer mode during the month of August it’s the perfect time to host the Fall Seminars. It provides our ASI members with 3 weeks advance knowledge of new product introductions and what special offers suppliers will be introducing in the fall.

What’s the one thing every clients wants to know “What’s New” the seminars provide our distributors with the ability to proactively present new product ideas before many people even know they exist. Now matter how long you’ve been in the industry getting new selling tips from the suppliers has tremendous value, we can all use some tips and ideas to ramp up for the key selling season!

Every tour distributors rave about how valuable the supplier presentations are, many leave the seminars and head directly to a client to present new ideas they learned from the seminars. For those of you that are attending the seminars for the first time here’s a little insight into how they work.

Unlike a trade show the seminars are held in a round table format with one supplier presenting to a small group of distributors at each table. This intimate format allows quality, uninterrupted time with each supplier; each presentation is 15 minutes in length and is focused on New Product Ideas, Special Offers for the fall selling season and selling ideas you can use during your client presentations.

Breakfast is available at 8:15am in each location and the supplier presentations start at 9:00am, every 15 minutes your group will move to a new supplier for their presentation. At 12:45 (the completion of the supplier presentations) a buffet lunch is served then you have the balance of the day to call or visit clients. Attending the seminars is one of THE most worthwhile half day investments you can make to increase your sales – they’ll help you put MORE MONEY in your pocket this fall!

Please note if you haven’t yet registered please complete the online registration by August 6th (or call me to reserve your space at 800-546-1232) so that I can finalize the numbers for breakfast and lunch at each location!

For those of you attending in the East I look forward to seeing you there – if you are attending in the West Jay from our U.S. office will be there and of course Fred will be on the complete tour – we look forward to seeing on the TOUR!

Happy National Mustard Day on Saturday! Did you know we are the largest exporter of mustard? I learn something new everyday!
