June 2, 2008 ASI Canada Road TourFiled under: ASI Canada Road Tour The first ever ASI Canada Road Tour hit the highways of Ontario last week with 45 of the Industry’s BEST Suppliers on Tour! Our first stop was Ottawa on Monday where over a 100 distributors came out to the show – the room was bustling with distributors eager to see the latest product introductions. At 1:00pm we all began the process of tearing down the show and hitting the highway to Toronto, lesson #1 always check the room to make sure everything got packed up! Bright and early on Tuesday morning we were setting up the show in Toronto when one of the suppliers realized she was missing a box, we searched everywhere to no avail. Then Wendy arrived and told us she saw the box in Ottawa and asked the hotel to keep it for us (I won’t tell you who was supposed to take the box with them), after a few calls to the hotel in Ottawa the box was located. A special thanks to Dave from Springboard Promotions who drove to the hotel in Ottawa and then got the box on a bus to Toronto for us! Tuesday was a great day at the show with over 200 distributors attending, the room was bustling from start to finish. Distributors told me the suppliers participating were great, covering every category in the industry – they were thrilled! The suppliers were very happy with the attendance and were busy from start to finish; the response from the suppliers exhibiting was “What a great day”! Wednesday morning we were at the Liuna Station in Hamilton a really beautiful venue, Liuna Station was originally the train station in Hamilton. The room was perfect with large windows on both sides it was the perfect location for another great day, over 100 people attended the show in Hamilton and the suppliers were again busy all day! Thursday we were in London, interesting there was no big rush at 9:00am, I think everyone in London is just a little more laid back – but it didn’t take long before the show was bustling once again. With over 100 distributors in attendance, the suppliers were kept busy from start to finish. Response from the distributors in London was that it was a great day with a fabulous group on suppliers on Tour! As we packed up for the end of the first ever Road Tour we finally got a chance to reflect on the week – attendance for the 4 days was over 550 distributors, a really great response for our first tour. One thing is for sure, both the distributors and suppliers liked the format, the table-top is a great way for suppliers to put the focus on What’s New and Best Sellers and spend some quality time with distributors discussing ideas! Fred and I would like to thank all of the suppliers that signed up for the first tour and a special thank-you to all the distributors from Ottawa to London that came out to support the ASI Canada Road Tour and the 45 suppliers that participated. Hi Fred and Leslie, I just returned last week from the APS show where I got to reacquaint myself with Tim Andrews after his presentation. Needless to say he was one of the best presenters. I am looking for the locations of the Toronto West and East shows and darned If I can find where the shows are! I would love to pop in and say hello and have a chat with you both. So if you don’t mind please let me know where the shows are on the 13th and 14th, please and thanks. Yep Office Beacon is a member to boot! See you soon, all the best.
