What Are You Thankful For?

During this time of year with the Thanksgiving Weekend approaching it’s one of the times each year that I take to reflect on what I’m thankful for. Everyone that knows me understands how important my family is to me – I’m most thankful that I’ve been blessed with my daughters who are my life!

There are certain realities of life that we have to face the longer we are in this industry and as we get older, the worst is losing people we have come to know thru our involvement in the industry. This past year has been a difficult year as I lost some people that were very close to my heart, in July I was devastated by the passing of Randy Shippam and again I was shocked by the passing of Athena Dunn on September 26th.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Athena thru my relationship with her father Wilson, Athena was a quiet unassuming woman and a true professional in our industry. Athena was one of the women that I truly respected in this industry; during the years I had the opportunity many times to seek counsel from Athena and will fondly remember our chats.

Not only did I respect Athena within the industry for her loyalty and business ethics, I truly respected her dedication to her family, just a couple of months ago I was thrilled that Athena brought Wilson to a BBQ at Promo Expo and I was able to have a chat with him. Athena and I had a really nice heart-to-heart that day about family and I will forever remember that day.

I will really miss Athena, but I’m thankful that I was fortunate enough to get to know her.

This past year has been tough on many of us in this industry and there have been many changes for people I know, some of these changes have been very difficult. But even thru the toughest of times I for one often reflect on the great relationships I have enjoyed in this industry.

So, this thanksgiving I am thankful to all of the people that have touched my life in a positive way and this weekend in my own way I will be giving thanks to each of them!

I wish you all a Happy, Healthy and Safe Thanksgiving Day!

I am glad you asked. We ask the same question everyday on a new site we created called ThankfulFor (http://thankfulfor.com) an online gratitude journal. We know that sharing your thanks can help to lead a happier life so we are excited to see so many people contributing their signs of gratitude in one place in hopes that the happiness will be contagious. Check it out and let us know your feedback.

Wow everybody, it’s Thanksgiving Day! I’m enjoying my extra day off, and I am planning to make something fun that will probably involve a car trip and seeing something new in Newport I haven’t seen yet.

4 of 4 people found the fwoiollng review helpful Beautiful Crib, Easy To Assemble, March 8, 2012Bya0 This review is from: I received this crib yesterday. The outside of the box it came in looked a little dinged up, with one big hole going through to styrofoam on one side, but I checked all the pieces and they were fine. Probably the thing I was most nervous about, before buying the crib, was that this is made of soft pine, so I wanted to make sure there were no dents in the wood before putting it together. Everything looked to be intact with no dings, and the pieces were packaged separately in the box. All of the hardware needed to assemble the crib was included. It also came with the toddler railing. The instructions for putting the crib together were clear and it was very easy to assemble. I’m 35 weeks pregnant and did it on my own in about 2 hours. Along the way, at different stages of assembly, I would give it some test nudges to make sure it was stable at the corners and would tighten bolts if needed. Once it was all put together it felt very solid. It’s easy to push around on carpet, not too heavy. There were a couple places where I accidentally dented the wood while screwing in a bolt, but it was off to the sides where it’s not very visible.Per the other review, I do have to say I was thrown off by how visible the screws are on the front, but I think I will just buy some white paint to cover them with so they blend in. Also, I know some people have been concerned about the big gold warning sticker that you can see in the picture for this item. If you don’t want to see it, you can just turn that railing around so it’s facing the inside during assembly.I purchased the LA Baby organic crib mattress separately and it fits perfectly. I did the two fingers test and all 4 sides are snug. Finally, I feel good about the fact that there is a website for the manufacturer of this product with phone numbers and emails to contact customer service should I need to do that.Help other customers find the most helpful reviewsa0Was this review helpful to you?a0 | a0
