Now, it’s time to get back to basics and make sure clients understand what an incredible impact advertising specialties can have on people’s buying decisions during tough times.

As clients analyze where they will be putting their advertising and marketing dollars in 2009 we need to ensure that they take a more serious look at our industry. When times are good companies tend to continue spending where they had the previous year, basically plugging in percentages depending on their advertising/marketing budgets. With budgets being reduced they will be forced to analyze more carefully what media they believe will give them the best R.O.I.

As budgets are being cut back and companies can no longer afford to target everyone they will need to focus their advertising/marketing dollars on those that are most likely to buy their products and services. Advertising Specialties are the only media that can be used successfully to target specific groups of buyers effectively.

While we are all concerned about what 2009 will bring, right now we are in a thankful environment with the holidays just around the corner. Now is the time to reach out to all your clients and utilize this industry to show them how much you appreciate their business. No matter what the corporate philosophy is about receiving gifts it is a must that you reach out this year and express your appreciation for their business.

Wherever possible the gifts should be delivered personally, with things winding down for the holidays people should have more time available and be in a more receptive mood. The best gifts during the holiday season are gifts that can be used in the home, according to our recent “Impressions Study” 56% of the advertising specialties recipients received are kept in the home. Also it’s important to remember that when people were asked why they kept the advertising specialty, 81% responded that they kept the item because it was useful.

If you are unable to deliver your holiday gifts personally don’t just send something – take the time to call them first and express your appreciation for their business in 2008 and let them know to expect a package from you. Then use this opportunity to set up a time early in January to review with them their marketing objectives for 2009. Now is the time to make contact with all the clients you have done business with in 2008 and let them know you care and appreciate their business!

If you would like more information on the recent Advertising Specialties Impressions Study just click here: www.asicentral.com/study

Our industry survived the last two recessions relatively well and there are some very important reasons why.

[1

post-34","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-asi-canada
["GET
