Maybe it\u2019s because I\u2019m currently living in Barrie and living in a smaller city brings out a more personal involvement. <!--more-->Or, maybe it\u2019s because when I was about Brandon\u2019s age I ran away from home and I can somehow relate to the impulsive actions that lead to Brandon\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>And while many of us spent weeks hoping for a positive outcome and our hearts were broken at the sad news, our sadness will never come close to the anguish Brandon\u2019s family will feel for years to come.<\/p>\n<p>We each have an opportunity to help Brandon\u2019s family heal and create a legacy for Brandon while helping children across Canada. Brandon\u2019s parents are creating the &#8220;Brandon Crisp Foundation of Hope&#8221; to help underprivileged children play minor sports.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;By request of the Crisp family, Canadian Tire JumpStart\u00ae will be collecting donations in memory of Brandon Crisp from Friday, November 14 &#8211; December 6, 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Funds collected on Brandon&#8217;s behalf will be directed to communities across Canada to help kids in financial need participate in organized sport and recreational activities of their choice.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>You can donate at Canadian stores across Canada or online at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canadiantire.ca\/jumpstart\">www.canadiantire.ca\/jumpstart<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I know we in this industry are very generous in our support of many charitable causes that have personal meanings to each of us but I would like to make a personal appeal!<\/p>\n<p>If you could see it in your heart to give just a little more this year, together we can help children from lower income families enjoy the love of sports and provide a family who needs our support a reason to keep going.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I don\u2019t believe there is anyone in Canada that has not heard of the tragic passing of Brandon Crisp last month.
