{"id":120,"date":"2009-11-03T18:32:47","date_gmt":"2009-11-03T18:32:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/asicanada-asicentral.com\/FredLeslie\/2009\/11\/03\/government-of-canada-issues-warnings\/"},"modified":"2009-11-03T18:33:31","modified_gmt":"2009-11-03T18:33:31","slug":"government-of-canada-issues-warnings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asicanada-asicentral.com\/FredLeslie\/2009\/11\/03\/government-of-canada-issues-warnings\/","title":{"rendered":"Government of Canada issues warnings!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have been sent an email from a distributor in Western Canada that warns of a crack down on labeling requirements for Bamboo!<\/p>\n<p>He writes:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'\">&#8220;Industry Canada has contacted me via registered letter to inform me of new labeling regarding bamboo clothing.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'\"><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'\">I received a registered letter from an Industry Canada Lawyer stating I had to change the way I label bamboo products on my\u00a0 web site. I then had to comply by emailing all URLs that were updated.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'\"><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'\">I also have to ensure that <u>my suppliers <\/u>have changed their labeling practices. So I have to call 5 different companies, get a hold of a management type and make sure they were aware. Most of them were but I had to do this legwork to come into compliance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'\">Apparently \u201cbamboo\u201d isn\u2019t a fabric. Its either Bamboo from Viscose or Bamboo from Rayon. <o:p><\/o:p><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'\">I feel this might make a good blog topic for you or even a feature article on the ASI canada site.
