Welcome to the ASI Canada Blog!

Welcome to our first blog. This blog will allow Fred and I an opportunity to keep you all updated on news and events that affect us right here in Canada. It will also provide a venue to discuss issues that are relevant to the Advertising Specialty Industry both in Canada and the U.S.

And, of course, a place to just have some fun. Fred and I both will be contributing to this blog and encourage all of you to post comments to any of our blogs. We would also appreciate you keeping us informed on any announcements or news you have, so please feel free to post comments on the blog or send us an email. Emails for Fred can be sent to foesen@asicentral.com or loesen@asicentral.com for emails you would like to direct to me.

Last month Fred and a group of 14 suppliers travelled across western Canada on the first ASI Canada Spring Seminar Tour (previously the TEAM Task Force Seminars). A highlight of the tour was having Tony Ronci, the owner of Souvenir Avanti, back on tour.  Tony was on the inaugural Task Force Seminar tour in 1986.The seminars have been a mainstay in the Canadian marketplace for 22 years and are the longest running travelling showcase in Canada.

And while I sit here writing this I think back to those early days.  I missed the first tour out west in ’86.  I was pregnant with the twins and not able to travel, but did catch up with the group for the seminars here. It amazes me how many people that attended that first tour, known as “Boot Camp” are still attending the seminars today. And not only are many of the same people still attending the seminars, we now have a number of sons and daughters of those early distributors attending. One of the nicest things about the seminars is its like old home week, particularly out west.  It’s great to catch up and spend time with old friends and meet new ones!

Watch for more news from the tour in my next Blog and speaking of news – congratulations to Sarah Bourgoin from A.T. Cross on her promotion and move to the U.S. – we’ll miss you Sarah! And big news from the Clark family, Kerri Clark has joined A.T. Cross as their Canadian Sales Manager and her husband Matt has made the move to Bullet Line & Journalbooks - congratulations to you both!

Don’t forget, if you’ve got news let me know so that I can let everyone know!
